Lakewood Area Volleyball Association (LAVA)

Lakewood Area Volleyball Association (LAVA) was created in 2012 to give local girls the opportunity to participate in the Carolina Region of USA volleyball.  It was and still is the only volleyball club operating out of Sampson County.

The LAVA motto is” Making a Difference On and Off the Court”.  We believe that competitive volleyball can serve as a platform to develop positive character traits like self-confidence, perseverance, and self-control.  Being part of a team means that you are part of something bigger than yourself, it demands that you work together to accomplish common goals.

LAVA success stories are bigger than the fact that we have had eight girls go on to play college volleyball. Our success stories include those girls who went from being cut from a school team one season to being a starter the next. Girls who fell in love with the game of volleyball and after finishing their playing careers have joined the coaching ranks at the club, school, and college levels.
